Meccanica Quantistica Molecolare
Place of Publication
Molecular quantum mechanics is the Italian version of the third edition of a text, published for the first time in 1970, it is now considered a classic. From one edition to the next they were made numerous innovations, while remaining unchanged the basic characteristics, in particular the balance between interpretation and clear illustration mathematics, as well as the effort to make "visible" material often abstract. The authors describe extensively the electronic structure of atoms and molecules, but also exhibit wealth of material on the various forms of spectroscopy, as well as the electrical and magnetic properties of the molecules, the latter argument that, while constituting an important area of quantum chemistry , rarely finds place at this level. In this issue there are two completely new chapters: one dedicated to the calculation of the electronic structure, the other to the theory of diffusion.
