Quality of Care in Not-for-Profit and For-Profit Nursing Homes
Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Annual National Conference
Previous studies have reported that nonprofit nursing homes have higher quality than for-profit nursing homes. This study seeks to test whether the quality gap still exists even when we take into account market conditions. Indiana counties are clustered based on nursing home care demand and supply factors into three categories. Individual nursing home data are nested in county clusters. Ordered logistic regression analysis is conducted.
