Attitudes toward International Students: A Person x Situation Approach
Association for Psychological Science
Our person x situation model suggests that Agreeableness and Openness predict positive intergroup attitudes because they lead to the selection and evocation of favorable contact experiences, which, in turn, lead to favorable attitudes. We tested this model by examining American students’ attitudes toward their international peers. The results were supportive.
