Abstract

Parental scaffolding effectiveness was explored in relation to negative moods and the frequency of mind-related comments (i.e., autonomysupportive) within the context of a problem-solving task. The results of a mediation analysis revealed that frequency of parents' autonomy supportive comments mediated the relationship between depressive moods and scaffolding effectiveness.
