Service learning is a credit-bearing, educational experience in which students participate in an organized service activity that meets identified community needs and reflect on the service activity in such a way as to gain further understanding of course content, a broader appreciation of the discipline, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

Faculty, students, departments, and groups were invited to present and share their community-based research, service learning projects, and scholarly work in the community during poster presentation sessions in the IPFW Walb Student Union Classic Ballroom.

The Service Learning Showcase provided student, faculty, and the community with an opportunity to learn about campus-community partnerships, student service learning projects, research data collection, planning tools, teaching methods, and related innovations.
