Abstract

The purpose of this project was to examine the views of the ancient Greek and Chinese philosophers and connect them to modern-day findings in music and other subjects regarding the brain, cognition, emotion, character, and personality. Greek philosophers such as Aristotle and Plato believed music is extremely influential to human beings. Chinese philosophers such as Hunyan and Xunzi believed music to be the underlying connecter of all things.
