Abstract

Purines and pyrimidnes have essential functions in a multitude of biochemical and developmental processes during the life cycle of a plant. As components of nucleic acids, cofactors e.g. NAD+ and FAD+ as well as energy production molecules e.g. ATP, nucleobases are involved in essential process of cellular function and plant growth.
