Essential Openings: Drawing in the Audience Immediately!
ATHE 2014 (Association of Theatre in Higher Education)
The panel was called Movement in the Margins: Movement as Opening, Transition and Liminal Dream-Space of a Play. I presented my work through video, verbal presentation and discussion. The focus of my presentation concerned the opening of a performance or production and how important it is to grab the audience and begin to take them on a journey. I discussed my work and showed examples of how I accomplished this. As one of the presenters was unable to attend the conference, I also discussed my work in continuing the story of a production through the transitional moments and scene changes.
