System re-design of first tier automotive value stream

This applied research paper focuses on the technical and leadership journey required to re-design a value stream for a first-tier supplier of automotive manufacturer. The system re-design journey discusses setup time reduction, redesign of the inventory management and scheduling approach by means of physical simulation model development, standard work design and implementation using the physical simulation model and Plan Do Check Act for continuous improvement, cost savings and the leadership journey required to facilitate re-design and implementation.
