"Sexting,” text message dependence, and intimacy among college students

"Sexting," which involves exchanging sexually explicit material via text
message, appears to be relatively common among young adult college students.
However, results of this study show that sexting is significantly more common
among those who are dependent on text messaging and those who have anxious
attachments to relationship partners.
